I used them at an advanced firearms training event that was held in the twilight and dark of the night. They were used to mark lines of fire at various distances and to provide enough light to see the inside of shooting bags, diagnose malfunctions, etc. without interfering with our night vision. I've used other glowsticks that didn't last as long, but these lasted over 8 hours and were still going strong when we were done. The white versions were used for similar purposes and worked equally well.
