Review on Chicken & Brown Rice Blue Buffalo Weight Control Natural Adult Dry Cat Food by Christina Stanley

Liquid stool, vomiting, no weight loss

This dry food seemed great to me at first. My overweight adult cat's weight has leveled off and she seemed less compulsive to eat. (From her reaction I got the impression that this is less palatable kibble - isn't that all diet food?) But then we had a kitten and she ate this kibble too because we open up kibble and combine it with little ones. portions of wet food. Eventually the kitten developed diarrhea and I assumed it was the wet food. So I stopped giving them wet food completely for three days and the diarrhea got worse. So I tried it the other way around, just feeding wet food at regular intervals and giving up dry food completely (even for three days), and bam! Miraculously there is no more diarrhea. Also, to be honest, my overweight adult cat has not lost weight on this food. At first it helped her stop gaining weight, but she is still overweight and hasn't improved in a few months. I've also noticed that both cats are vomiting less since I stopped feeding them this dry food. So in terms of weight loss, my adult cat is no longer affected, and my kitten is somehow responding to it. I will not buy again and am looking for another brand as a dry food replacement. I also noticed that my cats drank a lot of water when they ate this food. Several cups a day. Apparently, some vets recommend only feeding wet food (this is difficult with open feeding) because it keeps the kitten hydrated better. But I suspect this particular kibble is a bit worse because I've found my cats use a lot more water than they were fed other brands of kibble. I mean they went straight from the food bowl to the water bowl.
