Difficult to install, short circuit

Flash modified my old 4th gen iPod. Problems making a proper connection with the ATA cable due to the plastic tabs on both the cable and the adapter. I finally managed to attach and "latch" the adapter (I would definitely file the card tab a bit before installing), but by then the board was shorted. The red LED turns off when an iPod is connected to the motherboard.
