This did exactly what I needed. I changed the spark plugs on my 2006 Yukon XL SLT with a 5.3 liter flex fuel engine. I struggled for what seemed like 30 minutes to get the first tip of the ignition wire out of the spark plug! And that was the easiest to catch. I tried twisting it to break it but it held incredibly tight. After those 30 minutes I was clapping my hands and arms and knowing this was the easiest thing to grab I stopped the project and started googling for solutions. There were many other spark plug removal pliers but other designs seemed much wider and I was worried they wouldn't grab the boot as my Yukon cables have long heat shields that cover everything but maybe the last 3 /8" to 1/. 2 inch stem. These pliers are much narrower. I waited for them to arrive a few days later, then started the project again this morning. I removed the next three shoes much more easily in about 5 Minutes and finished the passenger side cylinder head.I'll get to the driver side cylinder head but just wanted to say that these pliers work as I hoped and without them I would not have been able to do the job They are solidly made and an essential tool for the job!
