I look at about 50 items a month and I think the winner of July's Deal of the Month contest will get this little card reader. True, I've only used it one day so I can't comment on long-term reliability, but it doesn't bother me much. First if you are a serious photographer (or other active SD card user). Please do yourself a favor and use high speed UHS-II cards (I used Sony TOUGH cards - cool). This protocol transmits much faster. My Sony cards claim 300MB/s throughput - I don't quite get it, but I've never seen full speed with a card reader. With that, I'm seeing 175MB/s WRITE and 255MB/s READ using a 2017 MacBook Pro and the Black Magic Speed Test App installed on a 1GB test. Much faster than UHS-I. It'll get good reviews just for its UHS-II support, but add that it's got a high-quality, professional-grade body that's a perfect match for my Mac Space Gray, and has a short, handy pigtail with a USB-C connection and only costs about ten dollars. This item is a surprisingly good buy! 5 stars with additional bonus merit designation. Hope that helps!
