Review on πŸ“‡ PenPower WorldCard Pro: Advanced Business Card Scanner for Win/Mac by Trevor Blazis

If you remember the time when Cardsscan was a great product, now it won't satisfy you.

. The good news is that this is a very fast scanner. After that comes the descent. Feeding cards is very difficult. Done wrong, the card will slide down the feeder (which doesn't hold the card securely) resulting in a blurry and useless scan. It's about 30% of the time. He doesn't like non-standard cards, and even the included card holder doesn't feed smoothly. With almost every scan (approx. 200), mostly manual correction required. If a middle initial is present, 100% of the time it will be combined with the first name field and not placed in the middle initial field. It's fast, but the cards don't pop out of the back. This means that the process will suddenly stop due to jammed cards. Because of the scanning speed, rescanning is fast, but all these problems are annoying. The feeding mechanism slides over very glossy or thin plasticized cards. The reader often stumbles across logos and almost all standard formats, inserting company information in the wrong field, or creating different company records by separating information between them. Easy enough to fix, but annoying. Software navigation is not good, obvious, or smooth; but the software works fine. This is similar to the Windows NT era. The bottom line is that smartphone apps are better suited for small amounts of cards. However, despite all its shortcomings, this is the best solution for large amounts of cards (e.g. from exhibitions) that I have found.
