These feelings so nice, my boyfriend wears them sometimes. They are warm, soft, easy to walk in. They are not heavy. As far as cold, they keep your feet warm until you stand still in snow for over and hour. I'd say wear thick socks with these boots if you plan on standing in snow for over and hour. After a while, you'll feel the cold on your feet no matter how thick your socks sre. They are not water proof. Scotch guard might buy you some time if you are in snow more than 1 foot. More of a fashion, than function boot.
