This thing actually had a few features I didn't know about: telescoping and knobs for loosening/tightening pivots. I got this because I have a well defined spot where I needed to hold the tablet over the stereo and it can be mounted on top of the dash and the lever put flat/straight forward to put it where I need it need. He places the tablet exactly where it can't hit anything, block my view of the road, or interfere with the car radio. I use it as both tablet and phone storage; it's good for both (although my phone's audio and power jacks make it difficult to plug in; I just clip it to the edge and it still works great! Unsolicited advice: grab a Kindle Fire and find a utility, which allows you to install google play on it save and install a decent audio/mp3 player app or pandora or similar I download music to microSD chips and use kindle as media player using car stereo as amp and a useful way to have a great car deck!
