Review on Otter Wax Leather Care Kit by Mark Bearden

Over the years I have used an endless variety of leather care products to care for motorcycle jackets and riding boots. I wanted to try Otter Wax as it was recommended by the folks at Schott so I ordered a kit with a sample of leather wax, boot, saddle soap and leather oil. So far I have tried the balm and the oil and I liked both. I've had the best results by warming the balm in the sun before applying (a hair dryer works too) and then letting it dry. I then used a horsehair brush to buff it to a high shine. A milky haze remains after drying, but this disappears completely when polished. The skin can also be worked deep into the seams by using a brush. The kit includes a boot that offers waterproof protection without the harmful silicones and petroleum products found in other skincare products I've used. I look forward to trying this. I also contacted the company to inquire about specific issues with previous products and received a prompt and thoughtful response. A rarity in today's commercial environment!
