There are several metal dustpans at this price. And this one requires a 20% surcharge compared to many others. But it works. This aluminum dustpan is extra large - perfect for cleaning up a big mess. And the aluminum construction makes it stronger than plastic and almost as light. The pan comes in two pieces, with a couple of nuts, washers and bolts to hold the handle in place. It assembles easily with a Phillips screwdriver and pliers (for final tightening. You can do most of the work with your fingers). Once assembled, it works like a charm. The handle is durable and comfortable thanks to the rubber (which many competing pans don't have). Will not bend when picking up large debris. And by placing the nut INSIDE the pan instead of under it, you'll have a smooth surface to walk on on your driveway, garage floor, or patio. If you read reviews of cheaper pans and are sure they'll do the job, save yourself. a few bucks and try this. But I can assure you that if you're willing to pay more for a rubber-coated grip, this one works as advertised.
