A good plane to find out what you like and what you need. Replace and then update as needed.

This is a good setup to start with. Find out what you need before you upgrade or make a change. You get a lot of good things for little money. You'll probably want to add more to customize it just like everyone else. The quality is pretty good - for the most part. The rails are pretty awful and the top handle - well it works. All clips are beautifully constructed and finished. They all have aluminum wing nuts but no ratchet. The main unit is highly adjustable and durable. However, this does not apply to standard plates. I was able to tighten all the screws without stripping them. There are a few more features you should know about. The rods do not have a standard thread. Streams are thinner than most systems. These are still 15mm rods that will work with any building block or accessory. The front handle mount uses a single clamp. Use a 4mm allen wrench to tighten. He can accept it. Otherwise he will want to slip as he is unfinished. This should be replaced soon. If you use a lot of portable devices. The C-frame needs to be twisted together from opposite sides to work. Actually, the clamps are the best. Everything else will eventually need to be replaced. The faux matte box is a totally cheap plastic part, but you can get a real matte box if you need it - you don't really need it. The blue grips are sticky and slippery. Just buy the bike grips you like. Spray the tube and the inside of the handles liberally with cheap hairspray. This will help you put them on and then tape them in place as they dry. It comes with extra knobs but no Allen key. It's a really decent setup with plenty of room for accessories and add-ons for beginners. A second cesarean would have made it more durable, but the thing is actually still pretty good. For the price, it's great value and a great base. I was surprised at how well the follow focus works at this price point. This is a non-muffled design with a metal body. Outs is a very easy block. The mechanism has literally ZERO play - for weeks/months - then it needs to be replaced - around the time you learn how to use it properly and can still use the upgrade. It looks like it will accept whips and holds, but I haven't tried it yet. The top bar system that connects the handle is great for extension. The thread on the Cage C is ideal for lamps, microphones, monitors, etc. You can also attach other accessories to the upper rails with a few simple blocks. It's not a cheeseboard cage, but it's the next best thing - or better, if you like rails over blocks and strings. If you know what you're doing/looking for in a carpet tool, skip this kit. But if you need a starting point, you'll get there quickly, and you can set up many ways to find out what works. If you do videography, you will end up spending a lot of money, so it's good to save a few coins in the beginning now. Layer create these things from scratch, just the way you like it and for your gear. But you have to start somewhere.
