Love this tie. I wish I had found one like this years ago. There was no way to bend it; It's too thick metal. I stuck it in the ground after a rain shower and had to use almost nothing to tighten it (a screwdriver; a thick branch would do as well). I have a German Shepherd mix and she has pulled or bent the traditional ones out of the ground; not that bad boy. The handle is held in place by welded metal and I don't see a way to detach it and it's permanently attached to the base so it no longer wraps around it. This is a must have for those who have a large breed dog or are tired of having their dog unpacked from a traditional harness.
