I needed new brushes and didn't want to buy more plastic to fill our overflowing landfills. I already use bamboo bristle paddle brushes and love them - I've been using bass brushes for over ten years. I've never tried wooden combs. I ordered the Wide Tooth Fine Tooth Set and am very happy with both. I have very long mostly straight hair with a slightly disturbing wave underneath causing tangles. Both brushes work well through my hair and reach the scalp as far as I can tell. The wide crest is a bit small if you want me to find something to gripe about, but that's about it. They're thick, feel great in the hand, work great and another complaint. They would be Zero Waste if they weren't sealed in plastic. Put in an eyeliner. Each brush came in its own bag. I think the bags are linen. I hope the bags are linen. The drawstrings on the pockets are definitely cotton. Ok the wide tooth comb is a little short, the packaging was plastic and I'm not 100% sure the storage bags are canvas. i still love her
