My car repair experience begins and ends with a tire change. I pondered the implications of trying to replace my dangling visor with minimal skills and parts from a vendor I've never heard of: (1) Will the color match? (2) Will physical/electrical connection points overlap? (3) Can I complete this task without punching a hole in the upholstery, purchasing additional tools and materials, or starting an electric fire? Yes, the color matched. Yes, the connection points matched. No, I didn't ruin the upholstery or start a fire. Yes, I needed a "special tool" - a torx screwdriver (I don't remember the exact size) to remove the screws holding the old visor in place. I had a bunch of weird drivers, so even that part went without much trouble. Now I have a sun visor that doesn't droop! The mirror lighting works the same as before. This is an exact match. Without a weird smudge on my old visor it would have been impossible to tell the difference.
