update 03/12/2020 - all the rings I have (the original ones and this one) seem to have the smell of the dishwasher (soap or rinse aid?) . I have hand washed and the results have improved. O-rings (Original and this) can trap odors from certain dishes that require at least a rinse cycle to clean. After the pot lid is cool enough, I remove the ring and rinse the lid. The ring will be sent to the dishwasher with the next load. I install clean again and turn the third on deck. At the moment I can't tell which is the original that came with the pot versus the replacements. All three work perfectly; and easy to clean and store. The original and these two are ok so far, but I would buy again at any time if necessary.
