Well, I have to start by saying I REALLY wanted to make this my favorite lock. Mostly yes. And here it is though. For this to work your steering wheel needs to be fairly close to the dashboard when fully extended and the dashboard needs to be reasonably flat. On the Mazda CX-5, the steering wheel protrudes far from the dashboard. T Ok, first of all a reviewer said that all of this needs to be installed with the handlebars in the lowest position. When you do this, all the thief has to do is lift the steering wheel, and the steering wheel will rise above the dash, offering a fair amount of play. The arc of the instrument cluster aggravates the situation. As you can see in the picture the wheel spins and in fact if I really press it I can clear the LCD. To install it on the CX-5, I have to pull the handlebars out and pull it all the way up, close the latch, and then push the handlebars back in so that pulling the horn is equivalent to firing the trigger. Even then, pulling back the handlebars leaves plenty of room to play. I'll say it beeped at least once every time I tried to slide it over the edges of the dash. The steering wheel turned to the left, but I had to pull hard to get through the corner and the horn beeped. points for it. I think if my dash was flat, adjusting the screw to fix the angle of the horn cover would allow for a more secure fit. As for that screw: It's a good idea, but if you have an Allen key you can loosen the latch. This screw really should be inaccessible when locked. He looks beautiful. I'll give it but I'm torn I'm not sure a steering wheel lock has to be pretty. I think it should be very noticeable. The reality is that even the mighty Disklock can be easily removed by a professional with the right tools and a few seconds. Thus, the use of these locks is intended to deter the occasional thief. So high visibility is key. You want the lock to be visible. Those who aren't intimidated by the castle don't care if it's there. This lock looks stylish. It's also easy to overlook. Let's be honest. If the lock looks crappy, don't sit in your car and look at it. The benefit of this is that the lock lies stylishly on the floor of your car when not in use. Its design is basically fine. I can complain about the seam lines being off center or crooked but the only issue is the locking ratchet slots are uneven and the last one is a bit thicker than the others. I need to fix it at this point and it's very hard to get it to the last click. One less click and it really is free. The clicks should be closer together, but I suspect that would affect its strength. All in all if it worked perfectly with my car I would give it a 4-4.5. It doesn't work for me although I will continue to use it. Like I said, I really want to like it. He deserves more than a 3, so I give him a 4.
