I'm definitely glad I read the previous sizing comments. Based on her suggestions I chose 5/6 for my 6 year old who would normally wear a size 7. The coat is definitely a size larger than stated, but it's not that big for a winter coat. If you want it to fit properly I would recommend going down a size. The material is of very good quality and the inner bubble jacket is easy to put on and take off. We waited for the school bus today in a chilly -14 wind and there were no complaints about the cold. We are very happy with our purchase.
