Review on Altra AFW1923G Womens Kayenta Running Women's Shoes by Heather Peacock

Altra, what have you done?! After finding the Altra Solstice 3 years ago (after wearing the New Balance Minimus for about ten years but needing a bit of cushioning due to some hip issues) I swore I would never wear another shoe again. was forced to find a replacement. I have tried 3 different Altra shoes with no success. Kayenta was such a disappointment - as you can see from the photos, this shoe is about half a size smaller than her previous shoes (Solstice is highlighted in blue in the picture - both shoes are a size 8.5). After trying on the Kayenta, I was annoyed to find that the shoes were not only shorter, but also not as wide in the toe area. It was the same with other Altras I've tried - apparently the Altra gave way under pressure and its "foot-shaped" design is gone. I have a normal foot width but I like the roomy insole that allows my feet and toes to splay freely while running. If they hadn't screwed up the design, this would have been a relatively comparable shoe to the Solstice. More than disappointed. The search for new shoes continues.
