Needles work great and are sharp. I only use them for mixing. I do microblading by hand. I'm not sure if this review is all about a needle or a communications machine with a small screen and buttons that regulate speed. If the car is there for that. I really wish I could return it and get my money back. It's not a good car. If you screw in a cartridge with a needle (of the same brand), it will not start. The backlit screen indicates it's on, but does nothing. You need to partially unscrew it when it is off, then turn it on and tighten it when it is on. Also, after a while, the machine somehow loosens the needle, so you may need to tighten the needle. I guess it depends on how the car feels lol. Oh, it also gets hot after a while, sometimes hot when you have to put it down for a second. I got this car because the one I got in my practice class was another one that Pinkow sells (Silver) and I really liked it so I thought it might be a little upgrade from JT. But no!
