The button lights have a good brightness to them, not super bright, but still easily visible. The buttons have a good feel with a positive "latch" when they are pressed and released. All my devices connect almost instantly when the power button is turned on.The hub itself is fairly small, the housing is metal (as advertised), but it is limited to 24 watts total power so be sure to check the power draw of devices you want to run on this. I was planning on using one slot for a phone charger at my desk, but my phone recognizes it as a "slow" charger. This is expected for a data hub but I still had hopes. Anyway the phone connects to the hub quickly (be sure to use a USB cable made for data, the first cable I grabbed was for charging only and left me scratching my head till I got the proper cable). If a charging only cable is connected the green indicator light doesn't come on, I wish a light did come on but as a different color like red.I tried a variety of devices, phone, USB microphone, memory sticks, M.2 USB drive, they all connected almost instantly.Data speeds for copying files around are what I was expecting for a USB 3 device (about as fast as my drives could copy), the (older) M.2 drive was getting up to around 250mbs, while simultaneously a cheap USB drive was copying at around 65mbs for a 3 gig file. So I am more then happy with it's performance.This is a good device and deserves a 5 star rating.
