I was looking for a replacement for a standard power cord that was out of warranty and found what Microsoft was offering to be overpriced. So I tried. After a few weeks I am satisfied. The fork pins don't fold, but that was never a priority for me. The plastic case is durable, the plug fits well in the surface, charging is excellent. The indicator light is also in the best position for my case (pointing straight ahead). I can't yet say if the original will survive, but so far I have no reason to believe it won't. All in all a good replacement.
