I've spent a lot of time buying a travel wallet that can neatly hold an American passport, cards and miscellaneous items and still fit in the inside pocket of my blazer. I bought a wallet that barely fit in when fully loaded and this bag was very difficult to get into and even more difficult to get out. I kept looking in frustration until I came across this wallet from Travel Navigator, which seemed to be the right size and number of card slots. Revain shipped the wallet quickly and it was well packaged with Travel Navigator accessories. The wallet's outer surface is made of fine-grain soft black leather. The quality of the stitching inside looked acceptable. I was very pleased with how it could evenly space around eight cards (or more), passport, and other content (like bills and receipts) and still slide easily in and out of my jacket pocket. The wallet's design and dimensions matched so well that I found I could remove my passport and use the same wallet at home. Last summer I would give this product five stars and call it my all in one travel wallet. However, after a few weeks of wearing, a serious problem with the wallet's material arose. While the exterior of the wallet showed no noticeable signs of wear even after months of continuous use, the interior card compartments looked different. The trimming of the wallet stock around the card slots and over the passport pocket began to stick and wear to the plastic of the cards where the corners of the passport rested on it. I was beginning to suspect that the interior of the wallet was either not a typical leather finish or the interior of the wallet wasn't leather at all. They describe the wallet as 100% leather, but that's not the same as 100% leather. Aside from the aesthetic issue of the gray spots appearing in some places inside the wallet where the decoration had worn away, anything that detached from the wallet stuck firmly to my various plastic cards (but luckily not the passport cover) and marked both the front and back. . Worse still, this black substance is not easily separated. For more rigid PVC cards, it can be removed by gently scraping with a fingernail for a long time. However, in the case of an ID card, parts of the magnetic faucet came loose along with the wallet material stuck to it. This procedure is more difficult with plastic-coated paper cards. Whatever this material is, it does not dissolve in water or alcohol. Haven't tried acetate yet but I'm afraid it might affect the integrity of my cards. Bottom line, what I thought was my long-awaited, perfectly designed all-in-one travel wallet is ruining my cards and making a mess (and it doesn't make the wallet look as good either). I wouldn't recommend this wallet unless you plan to only use it for a very short trip. UPDATE: Travel Navigator Accessories were very quick to respond to my concerns (see comment), were very polite and understanding, and gave me a full refund. They pointed out that this wallet was not made from inferior leather (like glued leather) and never had the problems I had. So maybe it's a coincidence. I want to repeat that I was very satisfied with the quality of the design and construction, apart from the difficulties I had with the special wallet that I received.
