I bought several of these base plates in different colors to use on my grandchildren's Lego tables (picture attached). Using 4 of these 10" x 10" panels on an Ikea "Lack" side table makes a great Lego work surface for young builders. There are cheaper, fake versions of the baseplates out there, but the reviews (warping, poor fit, etc.) scare me. So the table itself is $10-15 and the plates are around $40 (for some reason the price varies depending on the color!). If you decide to build one of these, here's a tip. Use lots of Lego to connect the panels to make a 20" x 20" panel. This way you will be sure that as the glue dries the "noses" will be perfectly aligned so you can build transitions from one panel to another.
