I give 5 stars because they are perfect for any medium to large sized dog. My dog is 4 pounds so he's about the size of a bumblebee. Lol I'm not going to negatively review this product or downgrade a star but let me share with you what I did that might work if you have a very small dog. The format they have the harness in is excellent but for a small dog the harnesses are very bulky and heavy. I think for a large dog you would want the straps to be like this, so I can see why the manufacturer made them strong. I just went to Walmart and bought a rubber band half the size of the one on the product. Then I hand-stitched it in the same configuration as the manufacturer used. I sewed on buttons so I can adjust it if needed. The white band is certainly not as pretty as the black band, but it fits my little pup much better. I live in Nevada so the sun is very bright here and I've noticed that she squints outside all the time when she goes out of the sun and I know it might not be good for her eyes in the long run, so i feel good to use them. Of course I had to learn, but since she is so small I just put it on her and carried it for a walk for about 15 minutes and she got used to it. Then when I put her on the floor on the leash she shook her head at first and tried to take her off but I just kept walking with her and told her to go with me and eventually she just started walking and stopped, to take them out. . Not only are they functional, but come on. Dog with sunglasses. and pink glasses? You just can't beat it.
