Review on 📷 Review: Fujifilm FinePix Z33WP 10MP Digital Camera - Green (OLD MODEL) by Matthew Richards

I won't go into a detailed technical review here - others have done it well already. My focus is on usability. This camera is really fantastic for the job it is advertised for - taking photos snorkeling, in the pool, on the beach, all turned out great. The kids loved using it and we ended up with a few clips and photos that we couldn't paste. Year-end film in a different way. Colors are great, very rich and vibrant, just like early Fuji film. Where the camera falls down is as an indoor unit. My Nikon Coolpix L14 takes much better pictures indoors or in low light. The Z33WP gave us grainy, blurry photos with an odd texture. Waiting for autofocus improved them, but not to the level of my L14 (or DSLR). However neither the beach nor the pool, I wouldn't take any of them. (In fact, I had no idea how funny pictures of kids blowing air out their noses could be.) Outdoor shots in full light and the fading sun were also clear. I bought a silicone case because I was afraid of sand. It fits easily and doesn't bother at all when using buttons. In general, really works for the money. Definitely has a permanent place in a dive bag. Edited 9/2012 - My beloved Z33WP died on a trip to Hawaii after countless trips to water parks and reefs. I don't know if he's been using it for too many hours straight or if it was just now, but it made a popping noise before it stopped working. After reading the reviews of later models I think I will buy a remanufactured replacement for the same model.
