- These chips have a different logo engraving. - The official utility FTDO FTProg does not recognize the device - Update: serial number A50285BI is a common fake serial number - EEPROM setup does not work via libftdi as it works on the original chip with the same program - The chip says 232RL while the name of the USB Device is missing L - "Issue number" in EEPROM is 0000 - Of the two I unpacked, one won't even turn on. The chip doesn't work for me because I have to flip it. It might work if you just want a simple non-inverted standard baud rate serial adapter with no bit burst, but none of the fancy FTDI features seem to work for them.
