Review on πŸš— Dorman 741-645 Power Window Motor and Regulator Assembly - Front Passenger Side - for Cadillac/Chevrolet/GMC Models by James Ramirez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A worthy replacement for the original part at a low price; easy install on 1500 Suburban

It runs a little slower and "harder" than the OE, but it's four times cheaper. Went in easily and in less than half an hour. The kidnapper would nail you at $400 for that, so who's to argue about the price? Removing the door panel on Chevy trucks is simple, making it an easy task. Two screws, one is visible in the door handle and the second behind the power window - unscrew them and you'll see them there. Unclip the corner wedge on the front of the card, remove the cover over the handle to open the door and remove the lock cover - then lift the card vertically and it will release. Gently pull it out and disconnect the wire connections (the one in the lower back corner is the door corner light). Then simply unscrew, remove and replace. Just make sure the glass DOES NOT fall unsupported or it may break. An old trick on most Chevy cars that works on their trucks is that there's a rail in the door that you can put something (like a piece of wood) on top of and position it so that it does not slip off and then glass can fall on it. The glass is now "safe" while you work with the slider. DO NOT use tape or anything like that - the glass is quite heavy and it will be shielded!

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • So far so good
