Bought this for my mum to keep in mind and overall we were both very happy with it. This requires some prep (like any artificial tree), maybe 10-15 minutes, but the beauty is that the lights, pine cones, and red berries make it so festive that it doesn't require much decoration. I added some dollar store tinsel strands and some picture embellishments, but that was enough. The light is battery operated as required in nursing. 2 foot option. The lights aren't magic, but full-size miniatures (I think incandescent, although I'm not sure). They need 3-D batteries to run them, and the battery pack is big (you need to unwind the cable a bit, which is tricky). They come with an easy to use timer, but I don't know about battery life yet. All in all, a plastic tree is a plastic tree, but with that in mind, it's probably a good buy for anyone looking for something lightweight. , attractive and small.
