It's an Android device, but before you can download and use an app from the Play Store, you have to go through a fairly complex series of not-so-well-explained steps to do so, and even then some apps don't do the job. It freezes and the remote control doesn't have the required functionality to perform some tasks. The remote is supposed to be "learnable" but the instructions were incomplete and I don't think it will work anyway. He's supposed to record things, but everything is protected, even the ads.
