Easy to install - just needs a drill and a ladder to install. I put in rechargeable batteries as other reviewers suggested which still seems to work (only 1 week so far). They seem to look pretty real because a neighbor asked me how hard they are to put in place. He noticed her because of the flashing red light at night. After 1 break we put them on as a deterrent (our dog used this feature but recently died). As long as they're great.
