Review on ๐Ÿ”Š Denon AVR-X3600H Black AV Receiver by Adam Mielczarek แ Œ

Reliable purchase, guaranteed to be a good one.

First of all, this is a receiver designed to work in a home theater. The product is not designed to work as part of an audiophile path. On the basis of this receiver, you can build a full-fledged working home Dolby Atmos 7.2.4 format, having an external two-channel power amplifier. Incomnfiguration 11.2, an external amplifier can be assigned to either HEIGHT 2 or FRONT channels (a relay is switched inside the res). The second is a verycommpetent engineering solution, since the main power still goes through the fronts, and by loading all 9 receiver amplifiers on the surround speakers, we get a huge margin of dynamic power. Also in 11.2 mode, the built-in DAC kicks in to full power, delivering 2 Vrms to each preamp channel. You should take this into account when choosing an external DSP for bass management (logically, a more expensive MiniDSP 2x4 HD will do). The Audyssey XT32 works very well if your room has the right acoustics. With an acceptable reverberation time, the calibration works very accurately. The need for reconfiguration in REW/MSO is reduced to zero. Using the supplied mic and REW, you should find the optimal position for the subwoofers and move the fronts slightly (if you have full range). Then launch Audyssey. Do not fool the system by making all measurements at one point. It is necessary to use 3-6 measurement points, including at different heights relative to the main viewing area. Crossoverscommputed by the system are best left as is. Incomnclusion, I will say that the acoustics in the room are of decisive importance for the QUALITY of sound: sound insulation, sound absorption, standing waves. You canโ€™t just take and put 13 expensive speakers in a bare room and say that I have a Dolby atmosphere - there will be a mess, not a sound. More on TTX: . Php? threads/denon-avr-x3600h-av-receiver-review2022676/ I'll ate my review if I have anything to say.

Pros
  • + Sound quality, the quality of the upmixer dolby surround / dts neural x; + Audyssey MultiEQ XT32; + 11.2 channels preamp output; + Independent control of two subwoofers; + eARC, Dolby Vision skip, CEC work flawlessly; + Decent sound calibration by regular means.
Cons
  • - not all settings are available through the menu (speaker impedance can only be set from the buttons on the receiver itself); - the Audyssey fine-tuning application is paid (and generally useless unless you are an enthusiast and are not ready to tinker with Room EQ Wizard and Multi-Sub Optimizer).
