Paint scratches

This cover fits my Mustang GT well and was only used for highway driving and only during the Michigan summer months. In winter the car is in the storage room. A month ago the bra was removed before the car went into storage and there are vertical scratches engraved on the front edge of the bumper just below the grille AND in the area between the hood and the grille. The seams appear to be on the inside of the bra. This is exactly the opposite of what I bought this thing for! I called the manufacturer (Covercraft) and spoke to a very good representative hoping to get a suggestion on what I can do after removing the scratches to prevent it from happening again. . She looked at the order and said the warranty had expired so there was nothing I could do. And that's where the help stopped. Didn't ask for another bra and don't want it if it scratches my car, mine looks brand new! I wanted a suggestion on what I can do to keep this from happening again! I don't think it's a warranty issue, it's an essential thing when the seams rub against the paint. IS NOT COOL! The bra scratched my car, 2 years old but rarely used. No guarantee. They want me to buy one of their $200 Cogan cases, but I think I'll keep looking for some sort of barrier or tape over the seams in the bra OR just put a see-through screen on it. I think I'll be mad at Covercraft if they own LeBra. The internal seams aren't that different from sandpaper in the places where it rubs against your finish. BEWARE!
