Let me first say that this review is a bit hasty, but my excitement from the first testing prompted me to write this. I use an FS (Food Preservation) vacuum sealer and I usually use their bags and rolls and they are $$$ What I've done so far 1) I measured the thickness of the smooth side of both products with a micrometer and found the difference to the fourth decimal place. However, I could not find any difference in thickness on the smooth side. 2) Examined the embossed side and found that this product has more pronounced embossing compared to FS so it is thicker. I'm assuming both sides of the pouch are the same material, the embossed peaks and valleys make that side thicker. 3) Some items vacuumed and placed in the freezer. This product material quickly pulled out a good strong vacuum and seal which told me the material is good quality. I'll update this review in a few weeks to see if the vacuum holds up. Past experience has taught me that while a vacuum sealer has worked well, side sealing and material defects can cause the vacuum to leak over time. But so far so good. I am more than happy with this product. Update: It's been a week since the vacuum hold test and I'm happy to report that the bags are sealed just as tightly as the day I put them in the freezer. I can recommend this product with a clear conscience
