, unbalanced, unshielded power lines. However, I have had good experiences with other Trendnet products and hoped they would impress me, but unfortunately they were disappointing. I was trying to extend the ethernet network to a room in my small office that is not connected to the network. We're talking up to 20 feet away. I've tried plugging the main unit (which is connected to the wired internet) into almost every outlet in my office. I found a place where there was *some* connection, but the download speed never exceeded 13Mbps; Most outlets would not connect at all. I've always plugged AC power directly into a wall outlet (no extension cords/surge protectors/surge protectors); often they couldn't even communicate through two outlets in the same room. I spent over an hour on this and will be returning it. Ultimately, I either just drill a hole in the wall and run an Ethernet cable, or set up a WiFi bridge or mesh. It was a complete failure.
