Review on πŸ’§ Watts 959098 Aqualock 3539 10 Straight: Ensuring Superior Water Efficiency by Alexander Scharon

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy installation and works as I hoped.

I thought it would be handy to have a shut off valve on the PEX water line for the toilet in my RV. After reading the reviews, I ordered a Watts P-650 Quick Connect 1/2" Ball Valve. Watts P-650 Quick Connect Ball Valve, 1/2" CTS. For the installation, I turned off the water supply to my RV. Make sure the water pump and water heater were off, then close the water heater shut-off valves. I opened the flush valve on the underside of my RV and held the toilet flush valve open to drain the water line. My setup was inline and the instructions give no idea how much I need to cut out of the existing pipe to make room for the valve. PEX pipe is flexible and easy to cut, so I figured as long as I don't cut too much length , I would. In Gold, I made a cut in the line with a utility knife, pressed the included plastic insert into the cut end, pushed the line into the valve until it bottomed out in the valve and snapped into place. one of the supplied plastic locking rings. Then I put the other end of the string on the valve to guess the length. It looks like I need to cut about 1 inch of the line, so I cut out a little less, about 7/8 inch, and it worked great in my application. I then inserted the insert into the other cut end of the tubing, inserted the tubing into the opposite side of the valve, and snapped the other retaining ring. I shut off the newly installed faucet, closed the RV's drain valve, and turned on the water supply. After air flushing and checking it works great and no leaks. (Remember to reopen the water heater shut-off valves after installation is complete.) This valve can be rotated in-line after installation is complete, so orientation during installation is not critical. Overall this is a great valve and very easy to install without any special tools.
