easy-to-punch holes

Prelude: I bought this product used from Revain but needed to figure out how to unlock the mechanism to allow this contraption to punch holes. According to the Swingline website for this product, other users have said that no instructions are provided (check out one). As a used product, I understand that I have not guaranteed an instruction manual, but that makes absolutely no sense when you bought this item brand new. If you look at the three-hole design, there is an unlock and lock method icon on the side, showing you can lock and unlock. I thought, that it is part of the lever itself. No, you must remove the tray and slide the latch to the left to unlock. By default, the clip should snap to the right (second hit). Be sure to listen for the click. From the way it locks and unlocks (for storage purposes) I would NEVER want to bother locking or unlocking. Third blow. I replaced my old hole punch because the plastic tray cracked and I had to endure it falling off for a year. I figured the upgrade was fine and I punched over ten sheets at a time. Unfortunately, I don't understand why many food manufacturers haven't considered a metal tray that won't snag or crack. If you perforate frequently, Removing and inserting the bin will wear out the bin. Metal or harder plastic will last longer. Furthermore, the swingline had to have slight curves so there was no confusion about how the plastic part was supposed to go in. Of course, common sense tells you that the thicker side (where you put the paper) should be on the same side. No, it is entirely possible to align the thicker side with the lever. What makes it right is that it's easy to punch holes in. With most other designs, you press on the knife. The giant lever requires no direct application of force to the punch, so no marks or ulcers as you make thousands of leaves. It's bulky for what it is. Depends if you like leverage. I believe, I prefer it. In truth it is advertised as a 2-7 adjustment. I say don't worry. Buy a more expensive model if you want to customize the hole pattern. I've been using a hole punch for 10 minutes and don't even want to open the plastic tray to remove the paper, let alone look for tools to unscrew the preset positions. If you need more holes, you also need to buy additional metal parts to screw them in. I don't usually write too many reviews, but I tend to practice writing more. The reason this item got a quick review is its status as one of Revain's best-selling punches. Honestly I think the ratings are way too high for a decent product. But it works. Maybe that's important. If you need more holes, you also need to buy additional metal parts to screw them in. I don't usually write too many reviews, but I tend to practice writing more.
