Potentially the best Xbox headset, let down by reliability issues

Note. I sent this to the UK from Revain US. Given my other headset is the Arctis Pro Wireless, it's hard to follow. Build Quality and Comfort I don't have to worry too much when it comes to build quality, the LucidSound headsets are very well made across their range. The LS35X is more of a refinement, even compared to their flagship headset, the LS40 (soon to be replaced by the LS41). The memory foam padding is very comfortable, the loops are more durable, and the switch to oval earcups is a plus. The headset belies that it's not particularly light in the hand, but during a 4-hour gaming session I literally forgot I was wearing it. No comfort issues, although the headband design used by SteelSeries still comes out on top. The sound quality is the most important aspect. I will again use the Arctis Pro Wireless as a reference as this headset has excellent clarity. The LS35X comes very close to this aspect, with well-defined lows, mids and highs for a similar clarity. Where the Arctis possibly outperforms is in the overall balance, as there are no obvious flaws. The LS35X doesn't have as much bass as the Astro A50, for example, but it produces enough power and doesn't distort under load, which those 50mm drivers support. positional awareness. I used both Windows Sonic and Dolby Atmos. To be honest, it's hard to distinguish between the two; both offer exceptional surround sound with minor differences. If anything, Windows Sonic offers a wider soundstage, but both technologies offer high-fidelity - perfect for providing enough alerts during mute! I use this headset in the UK (imported by Revain in the US) and in 8 hours of play I haven't experienced any dropouts or any kind of malfunction. I installed the headset and it was up and running in seconds and has been working flawlessly ever since. However, a few days later. I'm updating this review because I'm having some interference issues. There's no audio dropout yet, but there is a crackling sound that doesn't stop on startup but goes away when I turn everything off and come back to it much later. I'm still figuring out the problem but that's a bad sign and this is the first wireless headset in my house. If the problem persists, I will send the headset back. Mic Quality I've had no complaints from friends using the boom mic, which gives the impression of clear sound. Apparently my sound is no different than the sound when using Arctis. However, for barely audible mic feedback, I recommend placing the mic relatively close. The internal microphone is just a fallback. So if you don't want to sound like you're in a cave, a boom mic is always recommended for gaming. There are no alternate EQ settings, which can be disappointing, but when the signature sound is so impressive, the lack of access to additional modes that I'll most likely never use is a small loss. The biggest feature I miss is Bluetooth, which should be in every modern gaming headset. The added Bluetooth versatility will enhance this product. Thoughtfully I cannot recommend this headset based on other people's experiences and the issue I am having with audio distortion which is very disappointing given the long wait. If I find a solution I will change this review, otherwise I will send it back. Too bad because there's a lot to like. Hopefully there's a firmware fix that's unforgivable given the many delays.
