Perfect for baking and cooking! Since we cook almost every day, attention is paid to the flavors when preparing the food, which is why we rarely need a conventional salt shaker. I was looking for a salt shaker with a spout that could be used as a shaker on the rare occasion we needed one, and OXO was pretty much the only one that fit. We used to use a built in shaker by filling a bottle of kosher salt we bought at the store, but we've switched to sea salt and have a few other types of salt on hand too, so a permanent container was guaranteed. I would have preferred the bottle to be glass rather than plastic, but that's not a problem. I also thought it would be better if it was bigger, but changed my mind because it's nice to change the salt more often as the sea salt starts to stick together. Overall I love this shaker and was very happy with it!
