Great product. Simple plug and play. No formatting required. I don't know how it works, but the hard drive is ready to use as soon as it is connected. I've never seen a hard drive that didn't require formatting after being plugged into a device. But here it is. Probably magic. Of course, many of your devices offer the option to format your hard drive for that specific device. You can do this anytime you want. But this hard drive doesn't require it. It works exactly the same, no matter the first time. I originally got this hard drive for my PS3. I wanted 500GB. I ordered 320GB as only it was found in search. It turns out that searches with different storage sizes do not show this product. When searching, you must specifically enter your desired memory size. I only found out after placing the order. So. I used the 320GB I ordered for my Xbox 360. Then I ordered the 500 GB for my PS3. No more than 500 GB is required for these consoles. For PS4 and Xbox One you need 1TB or more. Unfortunately, this product is not available with more than 3 TB of storage. It would be nice if this product was produced up to 8TB in the future. As for the build quality. This is your default hard drive. All is well. Highly recommended.
