Review on Minka Aire F786 BNW Simple by Brianna Quintana

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The name says it all: Lights and Ceiling Fans

Fan Minka Simple is exactly what it says it is Easy. So many fans, for lack of a better word, look dated and vintage even while trying to be modern. On the other hand, this fan is elegant and really minimalist. However, this means that it does not work. That thing really moves air. I bought a 44 inch grand piano and mounted it on a 9 foot drop ceiling in a 12 x 12 room. Even Minka suggested getting a 52 inch blade for a room this size, but I wanted a smaller ceiling fan so I went with the smaller size. I was worried it wouldn't move enough air. I was worrying for nothing. This thing moves a ton of air. even at medium speed. However, if you're in a very hot climate (I'm not), you should probably go for 52 inches for a room this size. What else? The included 6 inch down bar was perfect for my ceiling height. I love the white color that disappears into the white ceiling. I like the adjustable 6-speed remote control. I like the reverse function on the remote for counter-clockwise movement. Despite what you can read in some other reviews I think the DC motor is very quiet. Yes, there is a bit of "whoosh" at high speed due to the fan blade design, but it's still quiet in my opinion. I bought a WC400 Wall Mounted Control Unit, also not really necessary but looks cool. I also bought a lighting kit: K9787 - WHF (that's the color code for the white fan). I didn't need a fan for this, but I did plan on buying a few more and installing the light where it's a must. Don't forget the tilt adapter: A245 - WHF (that's the color code for the white fan) if you have any type of sloping roof.

Pros
  • INCLUDES: RC400 - 6 speed manual remote control, on/off, full range dimming, forward and reverse function and 6" base
Cons
