I was about to start cutting out the cable so thought I'd return one of my converters that my cable company charged me for poses just to turn on the TV and watch something. After several weeks of looking for OTA antennas, I decided to try the HDTV antenna I saw at Revain. To my surprise, I have excellent reception and around 43 channels. Initially I had to play with antenna placement to get the best picture for most of the channels I receive. Once I found this place I didn't have to move it and the canals stay clean all the time. I like this antenna because it's light weight, has a stand and sits next to my TV. The black color helps it blend in with its surroundings without being conspicuous. I didn't want to put the antenna in a window or mount it on a wall etc. It works. Surprisingly, if you have the main networks turned on, there is a sufficient selection of programs. I plan to go completely cable-free once I find an OTA recorder with the features I need. It will be a lucky day when I can recoup the extra $60 a month.
