I did a lot of research before purchasing this backpack because I wanted to make sure I was getting it not only durable and shape-retaining, but also well ventilated and safe for my cat and functional in terms of storage. This backpack seemed to meet all of those needs, so we settled on a medium-sized backpack for our 11-pound rescue cat. The size is just right for him and the backpack holds its shape well and stays closed while we travel. However, we opened the lid so our cat could stick his head out for the first time today and the next thing we knew he popped out and the strap connecting his harness to his bag snapped instantly! Needless to say we are very disappointed that the strap wasn't sewn very securely and we will probably have to find another way to attach our cat to the backpack for future trips. Luckily our cat didn't get far and we managed to put her back in our backpack and take her home.
