speed was ok but was disappointed it didn't pass trimcheck (so trim didn't pass). I'm hesitant to use an enclosure that doesn't skip trim with an SSD, so I've written to the company and won't be using it for now. 3/25/2017 - Update - Startech still doesn't provide firmware for this case to support Trim (although they've been working on it for months), but they have a 'new' model, S251BMU313CB, that seems to work. My mistake is that I believed and didn't send the case back :(. 4/21/2017 - Update - Out of the blue a few weeks ago I received an email from Startech saying they had a firmware update using Trim -Have support for SSD in this case but they were only able to upgrade at the factory.I sent them the case and just received and tested it today and Trimcheck 0.7 now says that Trim (on Windows 10) is supported by: When I first tested the replacement enclosure, Trimcheck still doesn't work. However, I then moved the enclosure/SSD to a different USB3 port and Trimcheck said it works. According to Startech support, this can happen if the laptop used different controllers for different USB3 ports .In general I am very happy with this case and am increasing my rating to 5 stars 20th March 2018 - Just got my second of these S251B Ordered and received the MU313 enclosure and tested it with the new WD 500GB SSD. , and confirmed that it supports Trim. around 300 MB/s when using HDTach. This has to be one of the best USB enclosures, especially. for SSD: - UASP - Trim - Excellent speed - And all metal!
