Review on Atlantic 80 Disk Storage Manager: Efficient Media Protection and Organization in Durable Black Hard Plastic (PN85012055) by Tim Beardsley

Fabulous organizational tool

Love this! Yes, they're a bit more expensive than a full book, but when you're dealing with 500+ DVDs sorting through books and turning pages becomes so tedious you could be watching a movie by then. We have found what you are looking for. Tada: decision! I scooped up a few and decorated the outside with some case numbers. I realized early on that I couldn't reorganize every time I added films (my OCD called for an alphabetical alphabet, but it just didn't happen). I started trying to get most of the shows together but some of them were still doing sequels and I just gave up. Instead, I grabbed the My Movies app from the Android Market, which included PC/Mac software and an online list that kept everything in sync. I was able to create categories for each drive (Bin 1, Bin 2) and choose the column number that maps to the drive number in the bin. That way I could easily find my movies by finding them in the app or on the computer and seeing the category/column associated with them - I'm feeling like an alien tonight oh it's in bucket 4 column 23 . Score! The app alphabetizes, filters, and caters to my organizational craze, while the bins are great for storing my drives. victory, victory. There are different applications and types of software that perform this function. You can also easily create your own spreadsheet and save it to Google Drive, Box or any other location for quick access from your phone/computer. The cover itself is pretty damn strong in my opinion. Of the four that I own (will be ordering more soon) all arrived in perfect condition, no damage, no stains and in working order. The slider moves very easily and the top opens easily, pulling my intended drive up for easy access. They look great and are presentable (unlike giant books that flip over and look garish). They don't fold, which is a little depressing when storing away, but otherwise they wouldn't be functional. You need to un-stack the file you want to open and access your drive. If you don't have a lot of space for such things and you have a large collection, you might want to consider another option. I only built a couple of shelves into our media wall where I keep each one on a separate shelf (to leave room for more). Having a bookshelf or closet would also work. They're not very big, but you want to consider further expansion. Personally I don't use the included drive card and have checked the software side. It's very limited in size and fonts and you're better off making your own that you can customize as others have suggested. A simple table suitable for a drawer works great. I rely on the My Music app. Right now I have a bunch of discs waiting for new ones to come out of these storage boxes and it's always a groan when I want to look at the one currently in the book instead. :P It's amazing how quickly you get used to these bins and their easy access and organization. If you doubt it, grab one and give it a try. :)
