We bought this item for one reason only - to make our lab stop barking outside and driving us and our neighbors crazy. She will bark, bark, bark and refuse to enter the house; when we call her, she only confuses us. Our findings here are probably a bit unique as we are already using the PefSafe restraint system so our dog is used to the e-collar. We have had great success with this three dog fence system; I love it and now we LOVE the remote trainer. I put it on last night and let it out in the usual barking marathon and sure enough it started. I went outside and yelled for her to COME, but of course she didn't come. I ONLY pressed the beep on the remote control and she immediately happily entered the house. She didn't even need a correction. When I let her out this morning I made sure she saw the new collar and put it on in addition to her protective collar and she went outside for her usual morning walk without a single bark. When I went out and called her in, she came in on the first bell. Now she's used to the e-collar again so if your dog is new to it you may not get as immediate results but I can't say enough good things about PetSafe and their products. They work. There are cheaper distance trainers out there but I chose a brand that works for us in fencing and I'm glad I did. Bark problem solved!
