I have to say straight away that I'm not a music lover. I'm just a regular person who wants decent sounding headphones without breaking the bank. I've used cheap headphones sold at Walgreens or Walmart and they sound like I'm listening to music in a jar connected with a string. So I have some standards, but I'm not very sensitive to very small differences in sound. If you're an audiophile, you'll probably want to ignore my opinion. If you're like me, this review might be helpful to you. I mainly listen to rock, although I also like classical music. I found these JBuds both play well. It sounds good to me, I get good volume, and they block outside noise well. I sit right next to the air conditioner vent at work, so it's important. I usually just leave them in my ear. When I need extra noise isolation, I slide them in and they close tightly like earbuds. It is very sweet. When I'm writing code or when I really need to concentrate, it's very helpful. Classical music with soft passages is really quiet, no hissing. The paper that came with the headphones said they would need to be hacked before they sounded their best. I went to the JLab site and they have a little app that plays white noise, pink noise and a few other things that should help with the process. I would let that work when I'm not listening to music. I had never heard of it before and I didn't notice much difference but figured it couldn't hurt. For me, these in-ear headphones hit the sweet spot between performance and price. I would also like to mention the JLab service. . I have to use the smallest tips that come at the end so they fit my ears properly. Somehow the set I received had a small tear or cut on one of the tips. I emailed JLabs letting them know and asking for more tips. They responded via email within an hour and sent a brand new pair of headphones as a matter of priority. I consider it exceptional service and for me it raised these earbuds from a 4 out of a 5. If I lose them like I lost the pair they replaced, I will buy from JLabs again. They made my business with their product and service. EDIT: I got a reply from a JLabs rep today and he said they didn't have the little tips in stock when he was going to send me a pair so he sent a full install so I didn't have to wait. Very cool.
