On my first walk I managed to damage this screen protector. There were many deep scratches all over his body. When I removed the protective film from the screen, it practically broke, revealing even the tiniest cracks I had missed. It was dug out of the rocks and sand and thrown through dense thickets while hanging from my fishing bag/sling. Many times the bag has tipped over and landed face down on rocks, boulders or sand. In this adventure, the screen has suffered a lot, much more than I usually flaunt with my device. Let's just say he did what he had to do. When I removed the protective film, my inReach screen was in perfect condition. He endured all abuse and sacrificed himself to save my inReach screen. Please note when reading this review that I consider screen protectors to be "disposable" for any product. Sometimes the goal is for a screen protector to stay on a product for a long period of time (e.g. on a cell phone) and other films to crack after a few uses. In this case I am considering this product as a short term product as my inReach is used not only for SOS but also for location which requires the device to be mounted outdoors and exposed to the elements. This exposes him to much more violence. That doesn't mean it needs to be replaced as I change them often, but it's important to know the context. The screen protector looks good as it feels quite thick. The fit is very close to exact. I haven't encountered any clarity issues, so with the product on you can see the screen as if it weren't there at all. The package comes with two screen protectors for around $10 (at the time of purchase), which makes it a great deal considering a $5 product can keep your inReach screen alive for the life of that product . Installation is easier than most glass screen protectors as it takes up the entire screen. Alignment is as simple as placing it on the edge of the inReach screen and slowly lowering it onto the included plastic tabs. The durability, easy installation and affordable price of this product make it a good choice. I highly recommend.
