First off, the advice I got from several other reviews was spot on: order a medium size for a full size pickup, especially if you are using a tonneau cover . I have a Ford F150 with a RETRAX boot lid (more on that in a moment). The medium size is perfect for my tailgate and leaves about 2 inches of headroom on each side and I can still carry six bikes. I can say that installing this panel will be very quick, so I don't mind removing it when not in use. I have a single hitch carrier that I will use most of the time because it's really simple and the locks are easy to use. Evoc is easy to store. The padding they use is good for protection but not so thick that it interferes with folding and it's also very light. The only thing that worries me is that I can say that the bikes can slide off the rear wheel while riding and the bike can tip over a bit. This is easily solved with a bungee cord around the wheel or frame connected to the truck bed hook. I would also like to see a pocket or pockets built into the pad for bike accessories that I carry with me. No big deal, just nice to have. With the RETRAX luggage rack, which snaps anywhere front to back, when I take my bike off the truck bed I can push my bike hard against the tailgate trim and it won't pick up. Relax!
