Six Month Update: This seat is already closing fast. (No more slow closing.) One star off. Avoid this product. It used to be bad. Now it's almost useless. Original Rating: Easy to clean. Not likely to discolor gradually and disgustingly like wooden seats. However, there are tradeoffs. Toto and Aquasource shells are wider than this seat. It's not that annoying in practice, but it doesn't look like it; the ability to see the top sides of the porcelain rim. Seems like the seat is supposed to cover that part, right? Standing on a seat? Hmmm. Let the buyer be alert. The lid is thin. Nice that the lid is slightly longer and wider than the seat so you can just grab it with your finger and lift it? Yes it's beautiful. And I think slow closing seats last longer than heavier wooden seats. But if you pay $40 for a seat, they can make it a little wider and stronger. There is nothing expensive about this product; the least they could do was make it a little better.
