I liked the fact that it could hold cash, but for practical reasons it's difficult to put dollars in your pocket without folding it. I don't use the register at all. It fits nicely in my fanny pack (mom of three, I need my hands free!). The card slots are easy to pull out and put back in, but not that easy to fall out. I keep checks folded in the back and sometimes cash. The zipper closes well and I've had no problems with it or with the snap portion of the money and photo holder.
